Gelcoat care by
Nick Kennedy
What is the best way to prolong gelcoat life?
I have a friend that says that waxing, polishing is only good for the
pilot, does almost nothing for the gelcoat.
I really don't know much about this issue.
Would it make sense to cut a bit off like .002 every once in a while to
stop/prevent any...

FLARM A minimum spacing to ADS-B Antenna? 1 foot !?!? by
OHM Ω
Maybe this has been covered in RAS but I couldn't find it. I looked through two documents about the spacing of FLARM antennas, specifically the FLARM A and ADS-B antennas. Obviously, the thing to avoid is the transmitting of FLARM data (A antenna) interfering with ADS-B (or GPS) reception.
The...

Glider power systems by
Bill Daniels
After reading the annual installment of the 12V vs.14V soap opera and the
"We can't power any more electronics" whine, I took a little time to read
the Maxwell Electronics information on their Ultracaps.
See: http://www.maxwell.com/index.html
Maxwell makes a pretty good case for combining a small...

"Pan turbulence" by
Martin Gregorie
Some time back I saw a magazine article about something mysterious
called "pan turbulence" that bit airliners in clear air, often
somewhere in the middle of the USA.
Could this have been plain old rotor by any chance?
I was reminded to ask this by the message about the "Rodeo In The Sky"
TV...

I know there are electric powered sailplanes but by
YouHelpBuild.com
How about 100% electric powered ultralights?
What problems can anyone forsee to building a 100% electric ultralight
aircraft for short & mid-range commuters to get back & forth to work
(aside from air traffic issues... it IS a big sky after all)? I
understand the average commute is less than 30...

Libelle Web Site by

I have been working to get the Libelle site back up. Due to a computer
crash and at the same time an ISP that went out of business, I lost most of
the files that made up the site. I have recreated what I could, but need
help from the Libelle community to get all the information updated. ...

The latest glider covers? by
Laurie Harden
I have a set of aging Jaxeda covers for my 1998 classic Duo Discus that will be ready to replace soon. Can anyone advise me about any developments in the glider cover market? This ship is based in Minden, NV--hot, dry, windy.
Thanks!

Transponder petition by
Ian Cant
Wish we'd had this discussion before the SSA drafted its petition.
Seems to me the petition is unsatisfactory because it is confusing or poor law, it does not address the full set of transponder issues, and it just might open up an adverse review of our existing exemption. To address these...
