Airport/FBO recommendations for SW Los Angeles by [email protected]
I will be flying to the Los Angeles area next week to visit my son who lives in Redondo Beach, which is in the southwest part of the city. Most convenient airports appear to be TOA (Torrance) and HHR (Hawthorne). I would appreciate recommendations between the two, and for specific...

Shadin flowmeter problems - anyone else sees this? by Steve Beaver
Just a guess but EEPROM can be very slow indeed. Depending on the exact part number, it may not even be possible to change a single location in the chip. This means that you have to read the entire contents (or a large part) of the chip, change the value you need to update and then write it all...

DRVSM by Roger Long
I see on AOPA's web site that the FAA has blown off AOPA and all the other industry groups on DRVSM implementation. Does not getting your biz jet or turboprop outfitted with this equipment mean you won't be able to fly it above FL 290 or only at the new intermediate levels? -- Roger Long

Aero Trader by Scott
I've given up on this ad. If you guys can find it, and it's still available, have at it. I'm sure if you look at aerotrader, you noticed page 19 of the November issue. There was a c-150 in there in running condition. Only $6k. Only problem is trying to find the damn phone number. I'm sure it has to...

Regarding Oil Temp Gauge and Line Repairable by rkane33
Last month I posted a message asking whether the Oil Temp Gauge and line could be repaired on my 1974 Cessna 172. The Cessna dealer quoted around $450 for a new one. My notes indicate that Mark suggested I send the Gauge and line that broke to Air Parts of Lockhaven. He said he had one done for...

Lightspeed with Foggles question by Rod Madsen
I just bought the Hood Lamb and had to send them back. They simply would not clamp to my David Clark H10-13.4 which have a narrower than usual band. To their credit, they acknowledge this problem with DC's and suggest friction tape to increase the girth of the band. Didn't work...to rinky-dink...
