LXNav S80 vario decoupling by
[email protected]
Is there any way to "decouple" the S80? That is, get it to display one Macready setting for speed to fly while showing another (higher) macready setting for required altitude to destination? I don't see a way to do it but hopefully I'm missing something.
I like the vario so much my willingness to...

Scotchgarding slightly weathered wingcovers by
Retting
I have the lower cost Chinese wing covers and after 3 days of drizzle they appeared to be somewhat internally saturated, sticking to wing.
Not sure how much if any water is getting thru as everything is damp. When the sun finally appeared, the covers seemed to dry fast enough.
With all of that I...

Trying to log in to XCSoar Forum by
Dan Marotta
I've been trying and trying, but with the new captcha, it's more
difficult than connecting to a bank website.Â* So I'll just ask my
question here and maybe someone from XCSoar will respond:
I run XCSoar on a Dell Streak 5.Â* Love it.Â* Can it be upgraded to
include an engine noise sensor?Â* The...

Just What You Would Expect by
Dan Marotta
After a week of flat skies here in NM, I handed my Stemme over for its
annual inspection. So when I looked out the window this morning, what
did I see? Why standing lenticular clouds, of course! Oh well...
There will be more wave days before spring.

Check my flights, please by
Nick Thomas
Use your powers for good. Al and Ramy, anybody, could
you use your fancy software to look at my traces? You
will see me bust 18 once in while but that is because
I use a Garmin consumer product. I never go above 17,500
‘cause I know the thing is a piece of $%^@ but it still
happens once in while....

Minden's Scream'n! by
JJ Sinclair
Flew Minden last Wednesday and turned Bishop in 2 hours flat (dry)!!!
Love that cruise'n at 16....had a 20 mile blue hole around Bishop, so
I climbed to 18 and headed in..............just cleared the ridge on
the Sierras, coming out. Thanke to the wind-sock on my new SN10, I
knew the prevailing...

USA contest charts with turnpoints by
Tom Kelley
I have been using charts made my Taylor Blackburn, the daughter of 9B,
Andy Blackburn. The best I can say is they work very well in the
cockpit and also, for planning purposes while on the ground.
These charts come with the contest turnpoints and are laminated to
last for several years. Much eaiser...

Empty Hitch, Multiple Routes by
Lauren Reitz
It's been awhile since I've been in contact with most of the glider
community! Hello everyone!!
I'll be doing a bit of a complicated move with my own trailers to get
ready to enter the Air Force. The result is that I will have an empty
hitch starting 8/22 and making the following routes:
1) Saint...

Electric Tarus - super bird or gliding's 787? by
Bob
About this time last year the gliding world, at least in print, was
gaga over the Electric Tarus, and since then there has been total
silence. What I read caught my fancy, and a friend in Durango, CO had
one on order. But, before his ever came in, he was killed in the
crash of a gas-powered...

Cordless headsets........... by
[email protected]
Hi,
I am looking for some sort of portable headset intercom system to talk clearly between front and rear occupant of a glider. This can become quite difficult on aerotow in a fabric glider covered for example.
I know there is a Sigtronics type 2 place intercom that I could use to hook up two sets...
