Disk vs Drum on Trailer by Tony[_5_]
I'm sure RAS has an opinion. I'm going to be putting brakes on my trailer. I'll be adding a Flexride axle and I can either buy just the axle and buy drum brakes to fit it or i can get it shipped with Disk Brakes installed. Thoughts?

SC Nationals Day 8 Report by Frank[_12_]
Well, we finally had a good day - maybe 3/4 of a full Parowan day - great lift, but very few clouds. Apparently the temps got a few degrees higher today, and the winds were fairly light out of the south. The task advisors knew we didn't want to go very far south, and we *definitely* did not want...

Two seat jet self launch video by airshowbob[_2_]
Here's the latest video of the TST-14J BonusJet launching at Moriarty, NM. Field elevation 6200', density altitude 9300'. Performance is awesome! Also notice the lack of effort required for the startup ;o) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocEWmyjWOUM

SC Nationals Day 7 Report and SPOT maps by Frank[_12_]
Yesterday was groundhog day at Parowan - same as yesterday except weaker and fewer clouds. Winds light out of the west, which is supposed to be a better deal for Parowan, but not this time. Working band in the 13-15 range, rather than the 17+ from yesterday, but again not too much problems going...

SC Nats Day 5 quick report by Frank[_12_]
The task today was a MAT with a required last turnpoint about 15 miles to the north. Did I tell you I HATE MAT tasks? The weather was windy (20kt + out of the southwest) with some clouds in the north of the task area. As it turned out, the day was sharply divided into a REALLY GOOD first half...

Barbed Wire? by GARY BOGGS
Our local port authority just installed a barbed wire fence along the road at the east end of our airport. The fence is approximately 300ft from the end of the runway. I can understand them putting up a chain link fence, but a barbed wire fence is an extreme hazard and should be illegal. Does...

SC Nats Day 6 quick report by Frank[_12_]
Another 'Heaven and Hell' day at Parowan. First turn way to the north, second way to the west in the desert, last turn way south with its northern edge about 15 miles south of the field. By start time, some cu's were visible to the north in the first turn area, and some were visible...

DYI Blanik L-13 cushion by Bart[_4_]
All, Having sat on the famous steel bar for much too long, I decided to make a seat cushion for the front cockpit of our club Blanik L-13. I am planning to use plywood as a base and 1'' CONFOR foam at the top layer. At the lowest point, the foam will be glued directly to the plywood. In the front...

trailer wheels won't turn by chris
I have an older Komet trailer with newer axel. I parked the trailer about 2 months ago and it was working fine at the time. Now the wheels are immobile. I even tried to pull it with my car and the wheels just dragged across the pavement. In the dark of night I could not figure out if somehow...

Zero to Hero in one flight by Tony[_5_]
Back in the good old days the Diamond Goal did not have to be a closed course. Did anyone ever go from no badges whatsoever and do a +5 hr declared 500+km straight distance flight along with a 5000 meter altitude gain to claim Silver, Gold, and all 3 diamonds on the same flight?

What Good is a Standalone Borgelt B57? GPS? by ContestID67[_2_]
A friend bought a glider. It came with a Borgelt B57 in a box (not in the glider). There is a Borgelt B50 vario still in the glider. From what I read the B57 must have a B50 to function. Thus the B57 by itself is useless. Right? Also, I read in the manual about "GPS" but there are next to...
