Philip Lawrence CG-4A Pilots List? by
Karen
Anyone know how to find more data and photos on WWII glider pilots
from both 29 Palms and Lubbock TX?
Communicated with George at the Nat WW2 Glider Pilots Assn, but we
know there are some amateur historians who monitor this group and
others.
Philip and his family are receiving a special...

Dittel FSG2T Service Bulletin by
Grider Pirate
Paul has kindly posted this service bulletin on his site. I can tell
you that I am absolutely THRILLED to have to pay (shipping) to have
Dittel fix their screw-up.... again. My Dittel FSG2T radio was bad
out of the box when I bought it new. I paid for shipping back to the
vendor, from the vendor...

RAS Qualified Instructor by
Tony[_5_]
Well I brought the Cherokee down to Littlefield, TX on Saturday hoping
for some good soaring. Ended up making it 2/3 around a 200 mile
triangle and most significantly got a 10,700 ft gain so my Gold Badge
should be complete after a little paperwork. Guess I'm alright to
start flying in the back...

Tracking other than SPOT by
Steve Freeman
For those of us who cannot justify the expense of a SPOT given the
frequency and location of cross country flying we do, there is an
alternative I have been testing. It is inherently less reliable than
the SPOT as it uses the cell network. It does appear however to work
quite well in my location...

Newbie here... but, fwiw, I had over two decades of full time soaring
ending up owning and running a full time soaring center in central
texas (windermere soaring) until I completely flamed out and padlocked
the hangar doors in the early 80's
I'm currently trying to revive a quarter century old...

Here's a new guy question. The Region 4 South contest at New Castle
says it's a no ballast contest. Why is that? Is this common?

WX forecasts by
Dan[_6_]
We've had a pretty crummy soaring season this year in So Cal.
But has anyone else noted that the WX predictions from XC Skies and
Blipmaps seem to be too optimistic?
Sure seems that way to me.
Anyone else noticed that?

Peschges VP 6 --V by

Hello
I am still using a VP 6 but it seems to have lost it's separate GPS
receiver which is a dinosaur anyway.
The set seems to still work alright only it does not get any Satelites
to play with etc.
I was wondering whether any body has tried to drive it with a
Volkslogger? The VP 6 supplies its...
