Sandhill Soaring Club is excited to announce that it recently procured a race-ready, 20 meter two-seat DG505 ELAN Orion and Cobra trailer. The ship will be utilized for cross-country training, upset training and basic aerobatics, and for advanced training as the "next step" new-member pilots take...

Soaringlab.eu by Jonathan St. Cloud
Just wondering if I could get some more information on soaringlab.eu? I have watched a few flights on this and love it but wanted to know if others were using this and what their experiences have been. Love the realism!

Help identifying a wing rigger by Valentin Mayamsin
I've recently purchased a used Cobra wing rigger. Though it doesn't seem to fit my Jantar Std 2 wings -- it's certainly made for wider wings. I'd like to offer it for sale and would like to identify its size and which wings it is designed for. All I know is the rigger cuff will go from 30 3/4...

Region 4 South as of Monday afternoon. by [email protected]
My umbrella, poncho, and calf-high muck boots are all in good working order. We haven't seen the ridge-tops since late Saturday afternoon. Hoping for better starting Wednesday but still iffy at this moment. On the other hand, the company, soaring stories, food, and libations are outstanding.

Slingsby Kestrel trim speed C FFKQ ? by john firth
The pic gives a good idea of the boom mounted tailplane fixture. Next winter project for my PIK 20. I note that the elevator shows the BGA required mod., a downward cusp added to the Glasfluegel design. This was supposedly to provide feel at high speeds; found it (1972) to spoil the feedback and...

Trying to log in to XCSoar Forum by Dan Marotta
I've been trying and trying, but with the new captcha, it's more difficult than connecting to a bank website.* So I'll just ask my question here and maybe someone from XCSoar will respond: I run XCSoar on a Dell Streak 5.* Love it.* Can it be upgraded to include an engine noise sensor?* The...

Soaring in or around Maidenhead UK by John Huthmaker
I am heading to England this afternoon for work. I'll be staying in Maidenhead for about a week. If I have any free time, it would be awesome to get in the air. Can anyone recommend a place I could get some glider time in that would be relatively nearby?

Cambridge 302 Utility by [email protected]
I’ve a new-to-me Cambridge 302 that I’m attempting to set up for me and my glider. The Utility is asking me: “Is another program using the port? Quit Pocket-NAV to use this program”. I’ve attempted every Com Port option offered. Any suggestions as how to quit a Pocket-NAV that I do not...

R4S- NCI as of Thursday by [email protected]
Still raining. BRSS gave it an extra try but as always Mother Nature rules and the "no contest" call came at this morning's pilot meeting. Thanks to those who dedicated their hard work to host a SSA sanctioned contest and please put this contest on your schedule for next year.

Our club has made a tentative deal on a L-23 in Canada. But, there is no trailer with it and I am wondering if anyone in this forum know anyone with a L-23 trailer that we could rent/borrow/buy to get the glider back to Ridgeland SC? Fabrizio Di Stefano LowCountry Soaring Association

Eberly Trailer Spring by Wyll Surf Air
Hi I'm looking to see if anyone knows anything about the spring driven arms that hold up some Eberly trailers. For people who haven't seen them before they serve a similar purpose to gas springs in Cobras but using a spring and lever. The trailer for me and my partners Libelle has them installed...

Uncontrolled Loops Elevator failure by Jonathan St. Cloud
Just thought I would shift this thread. Not being an aerodynamicist, wouldn't a glider with a jammed elevator run out of energy in short order and end up in a spin within a tight loop and a half or two?

I'm looking for a resource for a replacement gas strut used to open the trailer top for a early 1997ish Komet Anschau glider trailer. This trailer has the external hinge. I'm hoping to find a suitable replacement from a US supplier. Thanks for your help. Bill
