First race day, and yep, we sat on the grid while the snifers went
round and round. You know the drill, pre practice ka boomers,, sky
filled with hard bottoms, then comes first race day. It even felt cool
at noon, and the sun gods were a hour late, earlier, heck, they even

We will be postin a new entry list on or around June 1st. Yes,
their are "some" changes. Those on the standby list will be getting
weekly emails from Micki on their status.

shows top 50 entrants as being "application accepted and a entrant in

Entry fee increase of $10 to $225.00. Tows have been raised to $53.
All 7 tows and entry fees must be paid before first contest day tow.
If you choose to fly on the practice day, Saturday, June 30th, then
you must be registered and have all fees paid and tows paid before you

Today, Wednesday, April 18th, has been xcelled due to weather. We had
a pilots meeting this morning at 10:30 am, and the daily winners from
the 4 classes, from yesterdy, the first cntest day, told their
stories. Dave Martin, BV, who has been contest soaring since about

Just got a email from Tom Knauff.........................
Dale Kramer flew a thousand miles yesterday - the only pilot on the
ridge due to snow showers - but apparently used a too-fast sample rate
on his logger, so it probably will not validate his flight.
KS sent me a email as Dale was flying,...

Scores are up on the SSA website. Only one way to describe a day in
Seminole like today..........................Ka Boom.........Anywhere
from 6 to 12 kts reported with bases at 6500 or so...............DB
breaks 80 mph raw, without water.and its mid March. Tomorow is

Well, everyone who went out, got home, or a tow. Good day, with late
day bases around 7,000 ft. msl. Good lift to go along with those
bases. Task was a TAT with flying baron, 20mi., green swamp, 5mi, and
altras 20mi.radius's, min. time 2:30. Max task distance around 213
miles.

E9, 2W, DUO, OE, A8, TO, GV, 5U,YO, 7U, RJ, ET, and more. . The last

entrants, plus 2 contest organizers slots, plus 4 guest slots, for the
USAF academy, approved by the Rules Committee Chairman. Making a total

We will be having a morning competition class for new and old alike. A
morning breadfast girl will also have coffee, juices, and snacks
before the competition class will be held. Classes will run 30 minutes
before the daily pilot briefings, and the panel will have on it, some
of our country's best....

No gliders over a 20 Meter wing span will be allowed entry into the
Region 9 Soaring contest for this year. We have received approval from
the SSA rules committee on this wavier.

soaring, and then average them. I was on the phone today with Carl
Herold, IV, he just averaged his 10 longest flights, they averaged
699.4 miles.

That price Ian gave and trust of 42 lbs. was before the motor was completed.
The ad even says available this fall. Its on Jet Cat USA web page, and its a
old ad. I have been in touch with the dealer and the price is about $3200 bucks
and the Jet Cat P200 now produces 50 lbs of thrust. There are...
