ASW20 or LS6 by
binks
I am looking to purchase my first glider. I have been looking at the
ASW20 and the LS6. Any suggestions on which glider would be the best
all around? I have heard that the LS6 has a narrow cockpit. I am 6'2"
200 lbs. and would be wearing a parachute. Also heard that the ASW20
can be a little...

Some good news by
Karl Striedieck[_2_]
The Mt Washington wave camp last week was a great success with plenty of wave flights, one of which (Evan Ludeman) reached 31K.
On another day a couple gliders were in wave when a slug of moisture closed the windows trapping them on top. One turned down wind and rode the undulations to drier air...

FAI, soaring and Olympic Games by
iPilot
It's been under discussion for several times, but I want to bring it up again.
There have been several pro's and con's towards soaring in Olympics, but nobody argues that it'd
rise the popularity of the sport. So it is important for soaring community. Therefore my question is
following:
Wich way...

My September 2017 visit to GP Gliders:
Poland is a beautiful country, especially in early September. The purpose of this trip was to meet CEO Jerzy Peszke and tour the GP Gliders facility. The operation recently moved to Korczyna (2.5 miles NW of Krosno). The original airport building was too...

Oxygen by

Working out details for a trip to NM. Mountain High seems to have a solid reputation but a fairly steep price compared to Aerox.
No joy on W&W or anywhere else. The MH system has some genuinely tantalizing figures of merit, just priced 300 bucks on the high side.
Any opinions? Better yet,...

Wing Launch - Can it pull your wings off? by
ContestID67[_2_]
I was sent this link from a UK soaring friend of mine about a death
when the wings came off of a glider during a winch tow.

Sad story. A few things;

Flarm in the US by
Steve Freeman
Curious about the use of Flarm in the US. Was told by another pilot
that the frequency used by Flarm is not approved for that category of
use in the US. Is that true? If it is, do they make units that use a
US approved frequency?

Hello all. I am looking to buy a new vehicle, mainly for work related
reasons. Something like an AWD Subaru Outback would be perfect for
work.
So I'm wondering what you all have to say about towing my sailplane
trailer with a Subaru Outback, which is a 4 cylinder vehicle. That's
the issue I need...
