ASW20 or LS6 by binks
I am looking to purchase my first glider. I have been looking at the ASW20 and the LS6. Any suggestions on which glider would be the best all around? I have heard that the LS6 has a narrow cockpit. I am 6'2" 200 lbs. and would be wearing a parachute. Also heard that the ASW20 can be a little...

Pawnee D left wing tank needed in Salida, CO by Birdbones
If you happen to know of an available left wing fuel tank for a Pawnee D , please call Ralph at 719-221-2743. The Salida tow plane needs a repair or replacement. A replacement would mean less down time. Thanks, Randy

OLC by Birdbones
Some thoughts on the OLC. It motivates me without the stress of attending a week long competition with travel expenses, entry fee, lack of sleep, etc. It educates me. I can study and learn from many of the best pilots in the world. It unites and promotes soaring worldwide. I pay nothing to the OLC...

Colorado Border to Border Challenge by Birdbones
A reminder that anyone that wants to participate in this summer long informal, simple (not the task) competition needs to sign up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChaffeeSoaring/ . The rules and prizes are in the "files" and registration is in "database". Currently there are only six entrants....

Check with Charlie Spratt or Charlie Minner. One or the other is the head of SCUM and should be able to let you know how to obtain tee shirts.

Contest Safety by birddog bob
Why don't people in SRA and SSA get the message about contest safety? A unnecessary loss of life because the FINISH GATE was used and not a FINISH CYLINDER. Charlie Spratt and the top racing pilots want the finish gate at contests because it is so exciting! All the near misses in the pull ups and...
