Gladiators of the Sky DVD by
303SAM
This is the story of the recent Soaring Gran Prix in NZ. It is
exceptionally well done and I recommend it to everyone on this list. I
think what they've done is right on target for making the excitement and
beauty of soaring accessible to a wide audience. The air to air shots are
fantastic.
I'd...

Anyone have any experience modifying the glareshield for a partially embedded compass? I have a brand new airpath panel mount, but would like the panel space for a transponder, flarm, something more productive. Ideally would prefer to swap my airpath for something I could mount somehow half set...

Glasflugel AD by
BruceGreeff
EASA have issued an AD - 2011-0213 for inspection of the elevator push
rod on pretty much all designs from the Libelle onwards.
The AD lists "Kestrel" as one of the affected types. My question is -
does this apply to the Slingsby built Kestrels - do I have to take my
T59 apart?
Will do so...

Glasflügel H301 Libelle wanted by
Dirk Beerbohm
Hello out there,
we are looking for a Glasflügel H301 Libelle glider - in a reasonably
good condition.
This is the only "Libelle" glider with flaps.
Do you have on for sale or do you know pilots who own such a Libelle and think
of selling it.
Any information is welcome.

glass tube fuses by
Roy B.
Does anybody know the correct nomenclature for the small size glass tube fuses that the manufacturers put in the panels of the newer gliders? I need to order a couple of 2A spare fuses and I am not sure what they call that physical size.

Glass, or Aluminum? by
Jim Kellett
The Battle is On!!
Yes, the perennial argument about the so-called "best glider" is about to be
resolved, once and for all!! Is it equipment, or skill? Is it nature, or
nurture? Is it the pilot, or is it the machine? Is is glass, or is it
aluminum/fabric? WATCH THIS SPACE!

glassholes by
pw5isthebest
In a few different threads now I have read disparaging remarks towards
those people who choose to fly gliders with less than a 40:1 glide
ratio.
There are a few glassholes on this group who put down anyone who
can't afford or doesn't want to fly an LS-4. ASW-27, Ventus etc...
Mention a Russia,...

Glder/Aircraft insurance by
gAiL
Hi,
I was wondering if there are any insurers on this list?
I fly with a university Gliding club and recently we had to re-insure our
small fleet of three gliders.
As most of you are aware, insurance represents a very significant chunck of
glider/aircraft maintenance costs, and as is often the...
