Default vulcan from the latest news letter fri 8 march - XM597.jpg (1/1) [245K]

XH558 is a charity trust so all the money raised can only be spent on XH558,
it receives no official funding at all, every penny has to be raised and
accounted for by the trust. Hopefully if things go well and the
modifications can be done she will be flying for some years to come. one sat
on the ground does nothing to show how amazing and graceful they are in the
air for such a big plane, its good that some try to keep one in the air and
not just a memory for those that saw them fly and a stories for the next
generation

The VTST has no cash reserves: if the appeal fails to raise the £133,600
required by the end of March, then the additional £150,000 needed by the
end
of June for XH558 to reach this summer's display season and the resulting
revenue opportunities, there are no emergency funds available to allow the
Trust to keep going.

This will probably sound heretical but I can't help thinking that there are
better ways of spending this sort of money than on keeping XH558 in the air
for the few hours it has left.

Like a splash of paint on XM597, for example.
