Kudos..
to the R11 organizers, CDs and pilots for pulling of a difficult contest. Poor weather resulted in 4 days of contest flying including one California Grand Prix task. The last day was the only real racing day, won by John Cochrane "BB" in his ASH-31mi. It shows a classic Minden/Truckee racing day in fair to good conditions. Final summary of that day: https://www.ssa.org/Contests?cid=242...n+11+FAI+Class Overall results: https://www.ssa.org/Contests?cid=2427&display=results ....and the video... GOES-17 0.5km Vis with radar and Flight Track of John Cochrane: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7q88ezmivf...rane.mp4?raw=1 Walt Rogers WX Remote weather forecaster for R11 |

You put a lot of work into this Walt, and we appreciate it. |

Thankfully, even relatively poor soaring weather at Truckee permits racing.
Thanks to all the volunteers who make it possible. Andy Blackburn 9B |

Andy Blackburn 9B The Truckee format for handicapped grand prix race also worked very well, and turned out to be a lot of fun. It took a lot of work from Jon and MIke, much appreciated. Try it! F1GP organizers would love to have some overseas competitors again! I'd love to but don't think I can pull off being out of country for two Christmases in a row. Get ahold of them!
