Region 3 contestants Welcome-Region Six North Contest Ionia

For those pilots who are "displaced" since the cancellation of Region
3, you are most welcome to compete at Ionia, Michigan. Practice day
is Sunday, August 16th. There is plenty of camper/mobile home space
on the airport with RV hookups or plenty of small quality inexpensive
hotels locally. Here in Ionia we have had outstanding weather this
year with high cloudbases and steady doses of fresh Canadian
continental polar airmasses sweeping through this area all season long
with higher than usual cloudbases. The terrain is extremely forgiving
with almost zero controlled airspace and plenty of large farm fields
to choose from in case of an outlanding. We also have many
uncontrolled small airfields in this area to be used as constructive
landout alternates. So come and enjoy the fun and hospitality. Call
