There is no way I believe this statistic from CNN, but it is nice to
dream... "Highway patrol pilots -- Pilot airplanes to maintain order, respond to emergencies and enforce traffic and criminal laws. Annual earnings: $44,020. Expected growth: 24.7 percent. Annual job openings: 67,000." http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/Careers/1...ity/index.html -- Guy |

I believe the salary part, ain't no way they hire 67,000 pilots a year. 67 a
year would be a stretch. I'm sure you have to meet qualifications going in (age, ratings, hours etc.) and you also would have to become a law officer, go through all of that training. I know the Sacramento PD usually hires pilots with 10+ years of
experience in street level law enforcement. A hard way to get a pilot job. |

CNN has proven once again......they are total BS!!!! Check with the
Airborne Law Enforcement Association and you probably won't find 6700 pilots flying law enforcement (close to it +-) in the entire USA! Most departments hire from within who are P.O.S.T certified and are sworn police officers. I wonder where they ever got those fantasy numbers?! |
