I am writing to ask you about the woodstock , duster or briegleb
plans. My name is Gustavo Balocco from Argentina. I am a gliding pilot and an instructor gliding. I am interested in making my own glider but I could not find an available page on the net where I can buy the plans of those gliders. I would like to know if you have an e-mail address that you could send so I could connect with the appropiate person to ask for the plans. I would be very grateful if you could send this information. Yours sincerely, Mr. Gustavo Balocco. |

The Woodstock plans are no longer available from the Maupin family due to fear of litigation should an incident occur. I believe that the Duster and Briegleb plans are also not available from an authorized source for whatever reason. Your best bet is probably to find someone with intact plans they are willing to sell. The Woodstock is definitely plans-only (i.e. no kit required). Not sure about the other two. Regards, -Doug |

Gustavo,
I'm curious which of the gliders you decide to build. I own a Woodstock and a BG12 and friends own Duster and another you should consider, the Cherokee. My personal favorite is the Woodstock. It is amazing. It was the latest design and benefits from the earlier experiences. They are all wood but otherwise different. Each type is fascinating and fun. It is difficult to get plans but not impossible. Cherokee plans were recently on Ebay. The very good Woodstock website that had photos and stories of my glider has gone off-line unfortunately. Hopefully someone will get it back online soon. It had a lot of good information for Woodstock builders. My friend Tony the "Cherokee Kid" on this newsgroup can tell you about the Cherokee. There is a BG12 group on Yahoo. Cam Martin on this newsgroup is the Duster expert. You can also get plans of many classic vintage gliders from the American Vintage Sailplane Association. You might be able to build a reproduction of an older wood glider from those. Good luck. If you come to my gliding club in Iowa USA you can fly the Cherokee, Woodstock, and BG12 Matt |
