IGC-approval for Nielsen Kellerman ClearNav GNSS Flight Recorder.
I have pleasure in announcing that IGC-approval for "all flights" has been given to the Nielsen Kellerman ClearNav-IGC GNSS Flight Recorder, effective 25 May 2009. This follows test and evaluation by the IGC GNSS Flight Recorder Approval Committee (GFAC) in accordance with Annex B to the Sporting Code and the Specification for IGC-approved GNSS Flight Recorders. The IGC-approval document will appear on the IGC GNSS web site shortly, together with the manufacturer's DLL file for use with the IGC Shell program for the Validation of IGC files produced by this type of recorder. The IGC-approval only applies to the IGC version of this recorder, with the firmware standard as given in the IGC-approval document. Earlier versions of the ClearNav that are currently in service are not included in this IGC- approval, although it is understood that they can be updated to the IGC standard by application to the manufacturer or his official agents. This brings the number of IGC-approved GNSS Flight Recorders to 45 types, from 18 different manufacturers. For details of all of the existing IGC-approval documents, see: http://www.fai.org/gliding/system/fi...proved_frs.pdf By clicking the link "List of IGC-approved FRs" a PDF document will be produced with: (1) a table of all types of IGC-approved Flight Recorders, (2) a table of Manufacturers, (3) a list of all IGC-approval activity since 1996, and (4) a short history of IGC GNSS Flight Recording. However, please note that it has been found that the links to the individual IGC-approval documents in the tables in the above PDF document do not work in Internet Explorer. Links have therefore been added to the bottom of the page when you first go to: http://www.fai.org/gliding/gnss At the bottom of this gliding/gnss page, there are links to the following IGC-approval documents. aircotecxc.pdf cambridge10_20_25 cambridge302.pdf dsx.pdf ediatececw100f.pdf ew.pdf ew-micro.pdf flarm-igc.pdf garrecht.pdf igc_approved_frs.pdf imierixx.pdf lxncolibri.pdf lxnlx20.pdf lxnlx21.pdf lxndx50.pdf lxnlx5000.pdf lxnlx7000.pdf lxnlx8000.pdf lxnminibox.pdf lxnredbox.pdf nteeasy.pdf ntematchbox.pdf peschges.pdf ptechnik.pdf sdiposigraph.pdf themit3.0.pdf triadis_altair.pdf zander940.pdf zander941.pdf All owners of IGC-approved flight recorders are encouraged to download the current IGC-approval document for their type of recorder. Hi,
Below is a note from NK regarding the ClearNav's IGC Approval. Best Regards, Paul Remde ___________________________ I am very pleased to announce that on May 25th the ClearNav was granted IGC approval for "all flights". All ClearNavs except ones shipped last week will need to be returned to the factory for upgrade to this standard. Production units need to have the ENL (engine noise level) circuit adjusted to the IGC standard and the latest firmware (v30) loaded. First Flight units require up to four hardware ECO's (engineering change orders) depending on there date of purchase, ENL and altitude calibration, assignment of a serial number, electronic sealing and firmware upgrade to v30. Please return the unit at your convenience by filling out the RA (Return Authorization) at the link below and shipping to us. We will make every effort to return it to you in a timely way. My turnaround goal is 1-2 business days. gk https://www.nkhome.com/ra/ra.php Gary Kammerer Soaring Technical Sales Manager NIELSEN-KELLERMAN NK Rowing Electronics / NK Soaring Instruments / Kestrel Weather Meters 21 Creek Circle, Boothwyn, PA 19061 USA 610.447.1555 x308 * 610.447.1577 Fax * www.nkhome.com "Ian Strachan" wrote in message ... Hi,
One additional note for NK ClearNav owners - When you send your ClearNav back for upgrade, you need only send the ClearNav display. It is not necessary to send the Nexus Junction Board or Nexus Junction Box or any other accessories. Best Regards, Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring, Inc. "Paul Remde" wrote in message ...
