This soaring season is off to a bang already. Last thursday we had
7,600 ft cloudbases, lots of streeting and strong solid thermals
between 5-7 knots. Friday was also a killer day, one of our guys
averaged 10.1 on one thermal alone in his ASG-29. Some of the locals
down here say that historically a cold hard winter tends to make way
for a good soaring season. If there's any truth to that, we've
already seen it with some great flights and it's only mid-March!
