Hey all,
Next week, I am travelling to WI for business and am going to try to make it to Oshkosh if my meetings wrap up like I think they will. I will arrive there around 2:00 or so. I was thinking of visiting the museum. Any other cool things to check out? Must sees? Thanks, -Trent PP-ASEL |

Well, Trent, you can have lunch at Friar Tuck's, and imagine all of us standing on the deck, overlooking the North 40, drinking a beer in 90 degree heat next summer! Of course, it'll be sleeting and about 36 degrees while you're there, so you'll need a good imagination.... ![]() I think the Museum, and Pioneer Airport (which is part of the EAA complex, but not within cold-weather walking distance of the museum) are the two big things to see. I don't think the Seaplane Base is open except during the convention, and the rest of OSH is very clean and nice, but pretty unremarkable. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Yeah, but as Steven said, he'll need more than three hours to see them. George Patterson You can dress a hog in a tuxedo, but he still wants to roll in the mud. |

What I am looking for is info about what I shouldn't miss so that I don't waste the little time that I will have. Still, I think it would be better to get an incomplete visit rather than none at all. -Trent PP-ASEL |

Having never been to OSH or Airventure, I think it's going to be cool to
see what everyone's been talking about. I've read so many things about it, I feel almost like I've been there. Well, Trent, when you're standing at Friar Tuck's, gaze at the control tower, waaaaay off in the distance to the southeast. Now picture the flight line going just as far SOUTH of that tower as you are standing north of it. Now imagine walking that distance. Every day. For a week. Sometimes more than once. And it's ALL full of airplanes... By the sixth day, the aches all merge into kind of an overall dull throb. But I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world, the last week of July... ;-) Have fun! -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

You might want to take a quick walk through the complete museum and then go back for details on whatever interests you the most. |

I would ask which exhibits are temporary, and spend all my time on those. Those will be in the museum itself. It is to be hoped that you will be able to take in the permanent exhibits at leisure at a later time. George Patterson You can dress a hog in a tuxedo, but he still wants to roll in the mud. |

Plenty of guides to take you walleye fishing on the Winnebago system.
Very nice water with big walleyes.
