What is an effective way to protect the alodine film? I know I could shoot Zinc Chromate primer (~$8 a can), or use one
of the epoxy two part systems, but I have many small parts (2024-3) and I won't have them all ready at the same time. What about the latex aluminum primer from Rustoleum: http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp...ct_id=29&SBL=1 I want something that will last through the build process and beyond for a while until the final paint job is done... Any other alternatives that have proven to be successful? -- Dan D. .. |

This probably won't be of much help to you, but I am in a similar situation on my Bearhawk project with what seems like a million aluminum parts, and since I want to operate as a seaplane I am going the full alodine/prime route so that it doesn't crumble away on me before I am done flying it. The best solution I have been able to come up with is to hold off on assembling anything until all of the aluminum parts are done, and then alodine/prime everything in one big hazmat fest. This creates other problems, but logistically I think it is the lesser of all evils. I plan to do this sometime over the summer so you may get to read here how it all went. ---------------------------------------------------- Del Rawlins- Remove _kills_spammers_ to reply via email. Van's Aircraft has this little spray gun that uses film containers for the
paint. $20. There is nothing to be cleaned. Works well. - Holger |

Go to a one hour photo lab. They will have hundreds or they can save you a
few if they have thrown them all away. "Blueskies" wrote in message y.com...
