I'm pleased to announce that I've been tasked with assembling a comprehensive wish list for serial port comm capability on our CNvXC vario/nav/secure flight recorder.
I'd very much like to get this right the first time, so I'm inviting our customers as well as 3rd party developers including Naviter, WinPilot, XCSoar, LK8000 to contribute their desires. I'll maintain a current list publicly here (it's quite sketchy at the moment, please bear with): http://clearnav.net/simplemachinesfo...sg1338#msg1338 The first order of business would seem to be to increase our compatibility with the C-302 and this would include implementing Log, Upload and Download commands to cover (at a minimum) waypoint database transfer, task declaration and IGC flight download in a transparent C-302 compatible manner. Cambridge 302 dataport spec is attached at the link above for your reference. There are, of course, many other things that could be done (going beyond the C-302), perhaps beginning with faster transmission rates. The best way to reply is to join the CNi forum and reply to the linked thread, if that's too much to ask, I will of course check for replies here, or respond to email (reply to author). best regards and good soaring!
