MEI before CFII?

Any advantages / disadvantages to getting my MEI before my CFII?
I would like to start building some multi time, and figure getting my
MEI in the process is my best bang for the buck.

The downside is that there aren't many multi students, but there are
relatively lots of instrument students.

Get them at the same time, like within a day of each other.
