Everyone had so much fun flying at Sunflower last year that we are going to do it again. You may remember last years first-of-its-kind "Low Performance" regional contest at Sunflower Gliderport near Hutchinson, KS. We had about 20 gliders of several varieties on the grid including homebuilts (kits and one-offs), factory builts, eastern european composite, a flying wing, wood/fabric, carbon, glass, metal. The highest performance glider allowed to participate was the mighty Standard Austria SH-1 (we had one of those too).
The "low performance" class had a lot of fun in a great contest atmosphere over VERY friendly terrain in 2013. Kansas farmers have planted 8.8 million acres of flat-as-a-pancake wheat fields for the 2014 season, and all of those fields will be empty by July 4th.
Region 10 North Practice Days are July 5 and 6 with contest July 7-11.
In an effort to share the fun with a few more people we've expanded outside of the Low Performance Class to include a Club Class this year. We'll use the SSA's Club Class range (1.115-.898)for the club class. Could be a good opportunity to get warmed up before Sports Class Nationals before the big race at TSA the week after our contest.
"Low Performance" (Nothing Low Performance about the pilots though!) will be for gliders with handicap 1.115 and higher.

Looking forward to seeing you in Kansas!
