![]() "Ditch" wrote in message ... Are there any alternatives to the Jeppesen binders? Even their plastic ones are kinda pricey. Thanks... Of course. The Jeppesen binder is the same size as a classic Day-Timer (desk size), Day-Runner, Franklin, and many other seven ring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binder systems. The best hole puncher for one of these systems can be found he http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?...o=_SK_5989 24 Very useful for putting checklists, flight plans, etc., in your binder. The very cheapest way to go is with a 3-ring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 binder, as he Acco–Wilson Jones® 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Ring Binder, 2" Ring, Black carried by Office Depot for $6.98. The Jepp plates will fit just fine in these binders. Hole punchers for these binders are a lot cheaper, too. You can also save a ton of money just getting Jeppview on CD-ROM and printing out only those plates that you need on regular paper, punching your own holes, and putting them in the Acco binder. This is probably a lot cheaper than using NOS charts, even. |

I shall check out the leads pronto! Thank you again... -John *You are nothing until you have flown a Douglas, Lockheed, Grumman or North American* |

They're paying for the charts subscription but won't spring for the binders?
You sure you want to fly for a company like that? Makes you wonder what sorts of corners they cut with maintenance..... "Ditch" wrote in message ... Of course. Or pick up a standard size hole punch with movable punches (uses
a screwdriver to loosen the punch). Set up for the 5.5 inch paper. Costs about $10-12. I find the 2 in to be much too large to use comfortably. I go with a number of the 1 in 5.5x8.5 binders. I can put two states in each one. |
