Hi Everyone,
I am a fellow Pilot from Seattle and founder of aviation website, PilotOutlook.com. We recently launched a feature on our site to allow pilots to share their flights with other pilots. It is available at - http://www.pilotout look.com/local_flights Let me know if you have any feedback. I apologize in advance for this unsolicited email. Thanks, Rajat Founder, PilotOutlook.com PS: FAA requires that if you do not have commercial license, you can only share operational cost and not charge for their services. We ask pilots using our services to follow FAA regulations. |

We ask pilots using our services to follow FAA regulations. Even if you do have a commercial certificate, you are still bound by this shared cost rule, with few exceptions (sightseeing within 25 miles, etc.) Commercial pilots can not charge a passenger for a trip unless they (and the plane) are operating under a part 135 charter certificate. |

That's not exactly true. Under very limited circumstances a commercial pilot can indeed charge a passenger without being in a 135 operation, but you certainly couldn't advertise those services on that web site so in that particular instance you are correct. |
