This is in beta, so help me test before the season starts.
No login necessary, just download one of the following files: http://www.justsoar.com/public/tfr/curtfr.sua (Newport-Peace format; SYM, others) -or- http://www.justsoar.com/public/tfr/curtfr.txt (OpenAir format; for WinPilot, others) The files are also stored in http://www.justsoar.com/public/tfr/ using the YYYYMMDD.* file format, so you can browse for and download TFRs for previous days. Special thanks to Lynn "2KA" Alley for setting me up with the TFR extract location. After all the work learning to parse shapefiles and convert projected coordinates to WGS84, none of it was necessary -- all of the TFR data needed was in the shapefile's database (.dbf) file, with WGS84 coordinates. Please report any problems to the e-addy in the files. ~ted/2NO |

The laser light TFRs are missing, but perhaps that is intentional. -- Eric Greenwell - Washington State, USA * Change "netto" to "net" to email me directly * Updated! A note to anyone trying to use this service: do not rely on the
"curtfr" version of the file; only trust one named by the current date. We're having trouble getting the cron job to boot the flux capacitor automagically, so current files have to winch launched. ~ted/2NO |

Okay we replaced the left handed magnetos in the flux capacitor with
right handed ones, after which the micro inverter successfully integrates the, uh, thingie. Anyway it's working now. The conop here is to set your PDA (or whatever hardware you're using)'s software to load "curtfr.sua" (or "curtfr.txt", for WinPilot), something you should only have to do one time. Then, on the mornings before you fly, copy http://www.justsoar.com/public/tfr/curtfr.sua (or .txt) to the right folder on your PDA and go fly as far and as fast as you can and rack up more OLC points than you can possibly imagine because you didn't have to worry about flying through a TFR. Oh, and subscribe to justsoar.com, so the free stuff doesn't go away! 2NO (starting winter training in SIX DAYS but who's counting) |
