Web-based forums, many of which use software such as vBulletin, seem to be where it's all going. I suspect ISP administrators look at all the obscene trash and name-calling that goes on in unmoderated Usenet groups, and conclude, "Why should be serve as a portal to this trash?" Which is too bad. Text based newsgroups are fast, cheap, and easy to read. -ash Cthulhu in 2008! Vote the greater evil. |
