This one is just funny:
http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/13_2..._194158-1.html Why is it funny? Because Tracy is, or was, the only airport I know that LOCKS and SHUTS DOWN their card activated fueling at night, making them practically useless for a fuel stop waypoint. Scott Moore |

Scott Moore Maybe they'll take some of that money and hire a night guard to keep anyone from stealing their card reader. |

I stopped overnight at Oceanside airport near LA once in the early AM only to find the fuel pump didn't work. I had planned to overnight there because of the low fuel price. Since I was heading down into Mexico (straight to Loreto) I needed a full 7 hours on board and ended up having to go next door and paying just over double for the gas. When I called the airport manager the next week he just said "oh, it rained that night, the fuel pump always shuts off when it rains". What planet are we on? -Robert |

In southern California, it's quite common to have failures and malfunctions when the annual rain arrives. It's also common to live with the failure/malfunction rather than go to the trouble/expense of finding and correcting the problem. |
