Would anyone know the force of each lift strut on a clamshell type trailer.
Mine are on a Costabel and need replacement and the markings have long since vanished. Dino |

I have a1984 Komet trailer and the clamshell gas struts are rated at 1600 Newtons. I replaced them a couple of years ago and I was given a choice of 1300N or 1600N. The 1600N was recommended by the distributor since I have an extra set of tips located at the aft end of the top. In retrospect, I think the 1300N would have been adequate. One Newton = 0.225 Pounds.
