Has anyone any experience of conserving wreck recovered engines that have
been subjected to salt water conditions - I have two R2800s c/w props that have been recovered from a salt-marsh. The Magnesium castings have crumbled but the remainder looks fairly sound and prop blades are good, most still with paint & decals. The mud adhering to them has turned into concretion & is proving troublesome - any tips on cleaning methods and chemicals that could prevent further corrosion & seal the surface would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance - -- Nick - Lancashire UK "Ex tenebris Lux" Reply to: LAIT Website: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/lait Bond Website: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/nick.wotherspoon/site --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
