What is one to do on a approach when you have stepped down into VMC conditions and the controller yells out an altitude and terrain alert? Well, one obvious solution is to say "Cancel IFR". That removes all restrictions. If you have the airport in sight 1700' above the airport, and at an intermediate fix, the weather is VMC, and you don't have to stay IFR. -- Regards, Stan |
