A recent conversation with an experienced glider pilot/flight instructor
got me to wondering... I know of one CFIG/FBO who - when he got into the CFIG activity years ago - admitted to several years of 800 hours/year in rides and instruction...in Ohio! I know roughly how many annual hours semi-sick weekend-warrior types can accumulate. And my recent conversation elicited an instructor with 11,000 total glider hours (~75% instructing), and - gasp-a-rootie! - 860 'ticketed' students. What else is out there in the way of accumulated glider experience??? |
