Last week, my name finally rose to the top of the shade hangar list at South
Valley Regional Airport (U42) in West Jordan, Utah. U42 is a few miles south of Salt Lake International (KSLC). When we went to see the airport manager to sign the contract and get our badges, he told us an interesting story: When they built new hangars a few years ago, the city became concerned about the possibility of fire, so some official proposed a rule that all aircraft be defueled before entering a hangar! Fortunately, someone with a little sense vetoed the proposal. |
