Update: 3 October 2020
The BRSS Boomerang has been moved to Merlin Aerodrome, in Amelia Court House, VA. Eric Lambert retrieved the BRSS Boomerang trophy (which has been at Front Royal for several years now) The flight is he https://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-3....l?dsId=8202101 1) To claim the Boomerang, you must fly a minimum of 100km (50km if L/D is less than 30:1) and land at the site where the trophy resides. Straight line or dog leg flights are permissible, and FAI rules apply 2) The flight must originate within a 500km radius of New Castle, VA. 3) The longest flight of the day wins. In case of a tie distance over different courses, the best speed over the course wins. 4) Team efforts are permitted, in which case each pilots name will be engraved on the trophy. 5) A pilot may not be involved in 2 consecutive moves of the trophy. 6) When the trophy is claimed, the pilot is asked to notify the Blue Ridge Soaring Society of its new location. |

The BRSS Boomerang has been moved to Front Royal Warren County Airport in Front Royal VA. Tom Ward retrieved the BRSS boomerang trophy using Skyline Soaring Club's Discus CS. The BRSS Boomerang trophy was previously located at Merlin Aerodrome since October 2020. Update 27 May 2021:
The BRSS Boomerang has been moved to Merlin Aerodrome, in Amelia Court House VA. Dave Reilly of Merlin retrieved the BRSS boomerang trophy with his LS-8. The BRSS Boomerang trophy was previously located at Front Royal, VA for less than a month. When Dave arrived, there was no trophy to be found. It was still at the engraving shop, from the previous move. Tom Ward (the previous Boomerang Award recipient) will mail the trophy (with Dave Reilly's information also included) to the Merlin soaring club.
