Not the solo night flight. Precisely this is the feedback I have received from a few people who are now doing their FAA CFII training. They are mistaken. FAR 61.109(a)(2)(i) says that your night training must include a night cross country of 100 miles total distance. Since this is training, not solo, your instructor must go with you. But is that true if the pilot is already legal to fly it solo? Yes, it is still true, even if you are legal to fly it solo. Pete |
