news:3IFKb.760275$Tr4.2159206@attbi_s03... I am looking for Cox model engines. I prefere the .049 sizes, any condition, ones with medal tanks are best (they can take a beating where-as the plastics just bust), but any and all sized coxes will do. I am building several small 1/2a planes for a group kids and need the engines. Damn! Another reminder of my long-ago misspent youth! The Cox .049s were real screamers, much better than the OK Cub or .045 O&R Spitfire. Early to mid-50s? Then I grew up and found other toys. These days the "screaming" is a problem. The model airplanes I've seen these days are radio controlled and the engines have a muffler. I can see where the original .049 Cox is long out of production. Is this right? |

The Cox is till in production and the parts are around. I just need about
six of these for the kids. The planes are just flat balsa so they are cheap enough. The noise is not a issue because of where we will fly them.
