AirWest in Longmont (2V2). 172s, 182, TR 182, 310s. Don't know the

checkout
requirements.

Hello everyone,

I'm going home over the holidays and would like to take some of

my
family out for a little ride. Especially my x-P51 pilot grandfather.

I've
looked at all of the FBO web sites that I can find in the Denver,Co area

but
can't seem to find any that have rentals. If I was a student or was a
member of the club I'd have no problem but I can't see joining a club to

fly
once or twice in the two weeks I'll be home.

Does anyone here know of somewhere that rents around Denver?

Just about all the locations in the Front Range (Denver, Boulder, etc)
require a checkout by a club CFI. I should point out that the term
"club" means "we're a for-profit organization with initiation fee and
monthly dues for the privilege".

Although Airwest may be no cheaper for the checkout, it is an FBO - not a
club.

I don't mind having to do a check out, pretty much expected to have to take
one actually. I just want to avoid the $300 dollar join our club fee, $40
monthly fee, $400 checkout fee all to take my Grandfather up for a half
hour ride over the city.

Since I travel a lot for work and I don't have my own plane yet. I'm
starting to get some ideas about starting something like a Hertz airplane
rental or something.
