According to the TV news, for whatever that is worth, the airspace is
being closed by the Governor or the Mayor (I forget which). Somebody
there taking lessons from Chicago?

Of course, that's TV news reporting and usually has no bearing on
fact.

Just announced on the local news tonight.
The airspace around Las Vegas to include North Las Vegas (VGT) and
Henderson (HND) will be closing early on wednesday, they said it was
closing to all General Aviation and helocopters at 9pm and will remained
closed untill sometime thursday afternoon. Not sure of the exact time to
reopen thursday, but anyone flying into vegas or out of vegas those days
make sure you get the info from FSS.

there's no threat. But according to:

Sr Leadership trying to present a false sense of security to the unknowing
public.

There are already standing TFRs limiting flight over outdoor events.. this
added restriction will be mostly within surface Class B airspace, but does
cover two satellite airports in the Valley.
