Do not expect to be able to fly a real plane with anything approaching practical test standards after going through MSFS "Flight School". However, it still is a valuable tool for practicing procedures. I agree it's no way to learn instrument flying, but once you've got the basic skills under your belt, MSFS -- or pretty much any other GA flight sim for that matter -- is not a bad way at all to get a lot of instrument approach time in, and it's cheap too. Sure, it won't count in your logbook, but that doesn't mean the experience isn't worth anything. Pete |
