Default Oh groan. An idiot with an airplane..

blundered into the DC airspace and prompted the evacuation of the capitol
and the Supreme Court just before Regan's funeral. Bad press for GA can't
get much worse than this. I hope Boyer is on top of his game today.

According to some news reports, it was carrying an official attending the
funeral services. The gov't may play down the incident but of course that
won't stop the media...

Yeah, those idiot cops from Kentucky and their silly Governor. What
were they thinking terrorizing the capitol like that? See, little
airplanes are nothing but trouble! Just shoot them down I say! They
have a Lieutenant Governor don't they? I'm sure he would like a
promotion.

But if they shot it down, the governor's family would have probably sued
Raytheon for not being able to take a missile hit or Garmin because their
GTX330 didn't call it out as traffic! And WIN! The precedent has been
established that the equipment need not be a factor in the accident....

It was the Governor of Kentucky's state aircraft, with permission to
land at Reagan Airport... but the transponder return was flaky, and
someone got jittery.
