Hello Debbie,
On list list I have it has the Luscombe 8, 8A, 8B,8C, and 8D as qualifying for sport category. Though an 8A would be what I am looking for. A guy had a nice polished auminum for sale on BArnstormers site and it was just sooooooooo sweet! hee hee Finding CFI's with a sport plane is the real difficult part! I am training in a Piper Cherokee, and they do not have a "sport plane" for solos and such. I know it will be awhile before I get the Plus built. So I hope the CFI's break down and buy one! HAHA "Henry and Debbie McFarland" wrote in message ink.net... Patrick, Are you on the Luscombe List? If not go to yahoo.com and join. It's the best source of Luscombe related information. If you plan to fly Sport Pilot, be sure to limit your quest for one of these fine birds to the 8A model. The other models do not meet the weight requirements. Good luck, Deb -- 1946 Luscombe 8A (His) 1948 Luscombe 8E (Hers) 1954 Cessna 195B, restoring (Ours) Jasper, Ga. (JZP) "W P Dixon" wrote in message ... The big dilemma! I don't think I can fly it once I get my sport pilots license. Maybe he will get another plane like the Taylorcraft..or even my favorite a Luscombe 8A. I am going to be building a Hummel Ultracruiser Plus so that is why I would like to get some taildragger time. I'd love to buy an old Luscombe..seen a few nice ones in classifieds. but no hangar and no way I can get financing( another divorce story! HAHA) Maybe I will get lucky one of these days and buy a house with enough land for my private little airstrip and build my own hangar, and maybe find a fixer upper Luscombe! Patrick |
