Hello there. Why does FS2002 give AA the call sign "Merican", and why does
the paintwork and tailplane design only cvlosely resemble rather than replicate the AA paint scheme? Copyright problems? |

Just a guess. A couple years back there was a lot of controversy about FS aircraft makers using real logo's on aircraft without permission. A certain someone actually got American to ban the use of their logo on FS aircraft. That same person also tried to get all other commercial airlines to do that same thing. His idea, as I understand it, was that you would have to get permission through him to use the logo's. I'm not sure what happened to him or his plans, but the only airline that I know of who went along with him was American. Maybe some of the other old timers out there can provide more detail - it was a pretty hot topic at the time. Jim Bosworth CEO BozAir.com |

What are you talking about? There are no American Airlines aircraft in the stock FS2002 installation. They're all fictional airlines. -- Kurt Weber |
