Slightly off-topic, but had the most amazing snow flight last spring.
8-10kts up in a cloud street (more like a super-highway) when - BAM -
somebody turned out the lights. Heavy snow squall with pretty marginal
visibility. The eeriest part was the millions of micro-turbulators causing
a low frequency rumble (see JJ's "CLUNK"). That sound was a real attention
getter 'til the old cranium figured out the problem. Anyway, the strongest
lift created a tunnel with thick snow trailing down either side. A truly
memorable few minutes. I wonder if snow is associated with very strong
lift by definition?

Had the most amazing flight today was out over lake burograng when a storm
front pushed out frozen rain then heavy snow.

Weird weather had to outland at the Oakes airfield a wet high performance
brick after 2.35 hours airborne with climbs of over 1000 ft per minute.

Should have taken my camera Doh
