Hi Rachel, If you are going to be in the Toronto area try the South Ontario
Soaring Association (SOSA) I flew there some years ago. A good contact is Terry McElligott. You can contact him by E-mail at You will find Terry is a great guy and used to work at a radio station that played nothing but jazz. Cheers, Ron Baker (Back home in sunny Australia) "Rachel Hine" wrote in message ... Hi everyone. Hope you are all enjoying the festive period. Has anyone had any experience of gliding in Canada? You submit the claim to the badge chairman of the Soaring Association of Canada (Walter Weir) who reviews the claim and provides a recommendation to the SSA Badge Lady, who makes the final decision. If you have a logger, submitting a second floppy of the .igc file is a good idea. All the necessary documentation (standard FAI claim forms, etc) used in Canada are on the SAC webpage, at www.sac.ca., under SAC services link, then documents link. I did the reverse, two badge legs flown in the US, and my claims went from Judy to Walter, in very short order... I greatly appreciate the additional effort on both their parts. Really, it's no big deal for the pilot claiming the task; you get the bonus of two experienced sets of eyes confirming your accomplishment. Dan High Flights Soaring Club Colorado Springs |
