drop into device manager View hidden devices. XP remembers you once had a device and then hides it from you. 'Plug and Pray' again! Ian

Just ran into the same problem. Check out the following link. This
worked fine for me. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;315539 Oh ya, %SystemRoot% is c:\windows by default on an XP installation...at least it is on my box.
