By the way, that "smallish" 747 that is parked with the former AF1? IIRC,
that it is "THE 747." That is to say it is THE airframe upon which Boeing
bet the company at the time.


Yep. If you read the history of Boeing, you will find that they have "bet
the farm" over and over, and come out successful each time. (Of course, the
same cannot be said of many other big airplane manufacturers...) Let's
hope their current timid reaction to the new Airbus A380 doesn't signal the
demise of Boeing's gunslinger attitude.

Congrats to the newlyweds as well...


Yeah, they should be in Greece about now. Nothing like a 2-week European
honeymoon to start a marriage off right!
