So was the airport there before he was born? Which was there first? That's the
one I have sympathy for. If you buy a house near an airport, don't be surprised
when aircraft fly overhead or there's noise. OTOH, if you buy a house out in
the sticks and then they build an airport, then you have a valid complaint that
the airport needs to address.

trees out that way so maybe they just didn't notice?

AH has been there since the mid-70s. It's the interstate freeway
that's the real problem. That and the fact that people keep moving
further north and further south because no one in Houston understands
infrastructure planning.

These things don't just happen. There are many planning meetings,
neighborhood information meetings, referendum votes, city/town planning
and zoning activities. Existing residents have an opportunity to voice
their views, but most simply sit back hand hope somebody else will.
But after the fact, they enjoy complaining bitterly.

So you got so see how well they understand "infrastructure" planning in

yeah, that whole story reminds me of my hometown Orly, France (ORY). Our
house got build before the airport existed ( many decades ago ). I think
at first it was a military airport then become an international airport.
Anyhow after being sued over and over, the airport every 5 or 8 years
asses everybody's house close to the runways ( like us ) and pays for
windows and roof replacement if needed.
Ironic that my grand pa and dad have been involved in suing the airport
for years and now I'm a pilot ( ok I'm far from bugging them with the
little Cessna though ).

My point is that now for the past 20 years, the airport have been buying
properties so that nobody lives in there. I guess that's a way of not
having to pay reparations on everybody's house in the long run
