![]() "Flyingmonk" wrote in message oups.com... Congrats Jay! Too late Dave, it is already in public domain. I beg to differ. Presuming he is the photographer (no reasons not to), Jay owns copyright to the photo. Just because he gave AvWeb permission to print it doesn't change that fact. If someone copies it off AvWeb and uses it for anything other than his or her own private use, Jay could (if willing to invest the resources) take them to court in a civil action for infringement of that copyright. Dave's statement is slightly naive. Copyright exists from the moment of creation. Registration is a different matter and, while helpful in a courtroom, not required. He needs to copyright that and put it on Airliners.net. He might get a commercial nibble from it It is already copyrighted. Marking it puts people on notice, but it's not required for legal protection under the law. |

Fine shot, Jay. Any technical details on the photo -- camera, lens,
settings? Oh, never mind. EXIF data says you took this with a Canon Powershot on auto and adjusted it with Photoshop CS2 for Windows. Only a 7.5mm lens, guys. Who says you need the big telephotos? Hi folks. Jay here, reporting from snowy Minnesota. Glad to see AvWeb used my pic! Technical details include: 1. Point at sky. 2. Watch Blue Angels heading toward cool cloud. 3. Press shutter. Voila! Instant pic! :-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
