You are assuming the identified problem is real. It could be something
else. You are using this problem so you can use the solution you have.
Adding paint is just convenient. Send it to Winter.

Thanks for the reply. However I better check the plumbing myself
and will probably try to zero it myself. If the plumbing is bad,
Winter won't find anything wrong and will have to charge me for the
diagnosis and shipping, and I'll have no instrument while I'm waiting.

However, I don't think I will try adding paint at this time. I may
later
if other solutions fail, or I may send it to Winter.
