Was told by an FAA FSDO employee that the General Aviation Safety
Programs (as we have known them) will be gone by July. Future programs will be given by volunteers, with one FAA program coordinator (my term) for each region. |

Yep, I heard the same thing from our FSDO in Des Moines. Roger Clark, the long-time safety seminar presenter, is being reassigned to "other duties"... It's too bad -- I thought they were good programs, and well done. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Seemed to be good info, but it got kind of religious after a while and it seemed like he was selling prop treatments. The FAA's new budget priorities are Gay pride celebrations and hiring black females who are unqualified at black urban job fairs. Aviation Safety? That's not important. Social engineering and diversity is. Your tax money at work |

I have frequently attended AOPA and FAA's safety seminars from several FSDOs (Windsor Locks, Albany and Teterboro). I agree that program given by Bob Martens were excellent. It's unfortunate that Bob had recently retired . Rumor has it that he may take up part-time flight instructing. If he does, there will be a couple of very lucky students out there. I'd have to believe that his mix of experience and personality would make a top notch CFI. |
