Hi!
Is there a way to connect an LX4000 into a PDA? I am pretty sure there is an output on the LX4000, but there's no info in my english version of the manual and the only manual available from LX-Navigation is for v5.3 and is in German and doesn't have wiring diagrams. I have an electronic German manual for v8.3 (which I have in my LX4000) but there's no details about the output wiring. My setup is: LX20 as logger and GPS source for the LX4000. I'd like to: connect the PDA in the LX4000 to run something like XCSoar or GPS_LOG. Thanks, gabriel |

Hi Gabriel,
I suggest you send an e-mail to . I have received many wiring diagrams from them upon asking in the past. If you can't work it out yourself I can create a custom wiring harness for you. Thank you Paul, I will email them.
Do you know if the LX4000 will send more than just a repeat of the NMEA received from the GPS? Will it add some "compensated vario" information that the software on the PDA can use (a little like the LX1600 and many other varios do)? Thanks again, gabriel p.s. Gilles-Andre, j'ai recu ton email, mais une erreur "unknown user" me revient lorsque je reply. As-tu un autre email? Paul Remde wrote: Hi Gabriel, I suggest you send an e-mail to . Gabriel,
I don't believe the LX4000 outputs vario data. But you can get Nav data to your Pocket PC. Split the RX, TX, Ground from your LX20. Then to a power converter Craggy Aero PWR-5B. This will pass the RX, TX data to the Pocket PC and provide +5v to power the Pocket PC. A Y cable could also be made to Supply RX, TX, GND to the LX4000 and RX, TX, GND, 12v to the LX 20 from the PWR-5B. Richard www.craggyaero.com Gabriel Duford wrote: Hi!
